Hemalatha Ramkumar serves as a Legal and Compliance Manager at IFMR, where she supports the organisation’s legal, regulatory and governance functions. She advises internal teams on contractual and compliance matters, drafts and reviews agreements and policies, and supports the Board and its committees on institutional requirements. Her responsibilities also include data protection, FCRA-related matters, partner and donor due diligence, risk assessment, policy implementation and coordination with auditors, consultants and external legal advisers. She works closely with IFMR’s research centres and administrative teams to ensure activities are conducted within applicable legal and regulatory frameworks. She also helps strengthen compliance processes, documentation standards and accountability across functions.
Before joining IFMR Society, Hema worked with NABKISAN Finance Limited, a NABARD-promoted Non-Banking Financial Company. Her experience covered legal documentation, regulatory compliance, dispute resolution and recovery proceedings, including arbitration, SARFAESI, DRT and insolvency matters. She brings a structured, practical and solution-focused approach to her work.
