Saachi Bhalla is Deputy Director, Gender Equality at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, where she works on advancing gender equality and women’s economic empowerment. She has held several roles at the Foundation, including Senior Program Officer and Program Officer, working across global health, development, policy and strategic partnerships.
Prior to joining the Gates Foundation, Saachi worked at Deloitte Consulting, where she focused on strategic advisory assignments in public health and development. Earlier in her career, she worked with the Centre for Science and Environment and The YP Foundation.
Her work spans women’s digital inclusion, livelihoods and economic empowerment, and gender-intentional approaches to technology and development. She holds an MSc in Global Politics from the London School of Economics and Political Science and a degree in Political Science from Lady Shri Ram College, University of Delhi.
