Dr Bharath Sundaram is an ecologist and Associate Professor of Environmental Studies at Krea University, with an interdisciplinary research and teaching focus on the relationship between environment and society. He previously served as Associate Professor of Human Ecology at Nalanda University, working at the intersection of ecology, development and environmental studies.
His research combines ecological sciences with perspectives from environmental history, subaltern studies, ethnography and environmental politics. His areas of expertise include biodiversity, plant ecology, conservation, sustainability and political ecology.
He teaches courses spanning environmental studies, sustainability and climate change, ecology and development, political ecology of biodiversity conservation, environmental communication and scientific reasoning. He holds a PhD from Manipal University, a Master’s degree from Pondicherry University, and an undergraduate degree from the University of Madras.
